Resident Evil 4 Remake Garrador Enemy Location And Combat Strategy

The Resident Evil 4 Remake introduces terrifying encounters that challenge even veteran survival horror players. Among the most dangerous foes in the castle sections is the Garrador, a blind yet exceptionally lethal opponent equipped with massive iron claws.
Where to Find the Garrador in Castle Locations
Players first encounter the Garrador during Chapter 7 inside the dark dungeon beneath the castle grounds. In this initial room, you are forced to fight or bypass this creature while navigating tight corridors filled with hanging chains.
A second, even more treacherous battle occurs in Chapter 10 within the Antechamber. Here, players must face two Garradors simultaneously alongside waves of hostile cultists, making movement management vital.
Understanding Garrador Sound Sensitivity and Behavior
Because the Garrador is completely blind, it relies entirely on acute hearing to track your position throughout the arena. Running, firing unsuppressed firearms, or bumping into hanging chains will immediately alert the beast to your location.
Crouch walking is your primary tool for staying hidden while maneuvering into position behind the monster. When startled by a noise, the Garrador charges toward the sound and performs wide claw swings that deal massive damage.
Effective Weapons and Weak Point Targets
The primary weakness of any Garrador is the exposed Plagas parasite protruding from its upper back. Attacking this parasite yields maximum damage, allowing you to quickly dismantle its health pool.
High-caliber firearms such as rifles and magnums excel at hitting the parasite from a safe distance. Alternatively, stealthy players can crouch walk up behind the creature to execute a high-damage knife backstab.
Advanced Tactics for the Double Garrador Encounter
The Chapter 10 encounter demands careful crowd control due to incoming cultists and dual claw threats. Flash grenades are exceptionally effective here, as they temporarily blind nearby cultists and stun exposed parasites.
You can also shoot environmental bells around the room to draw both Garradors away from your location. While they strike at the bell source, you can safely unleash heavy explosives or rifle shots into their exposed backs.
